There are a lot of reviews on this and other site about these types of "kneeling chairs". I feel that most of the negative reviews are because the customer's expectations were different than what the chair was designed for. This is not a magical chair. Your weight does not change, just how that weight is supported by the chair. In a traditional chair, your weight is supported against your buttocks and upper thighs. All these "kneeling chairs" do is support your weight differently by splitting the support between your buttocks and your shins. Nothing mystical, just physics. If your physical condition is such that you would feel more comfortable supporting your weight split between your buttocks and shins, then these types of chairs will work for you. However, if you are very comfortable in a traditional chair, then perhaps this change won't be as comfortable for you.In my case, I have nerve damage in my upper thighs. Sitting in a traditional chair puts pressure on my thighs which causes great pain. Using a kneeling chair puts the pressure on my buttocks and shins resulting in no to little pain. If you have similar conditions, this type of chair may work. Is it as comfortable as a traditional chair? Of course not. There is a reason why the traditional design of chairs is so common. In my opinion, kneeling chairs are designed for a special purpose for specific types of conditions.AssemblyThe assembly of this chair is not as easy as it could be. I have assembled two of these chairs and I have learned some tricks.1. Attach the pads early in the assembly instead of the final step as in the instructions. Attach the shin pad (four screws). Then follow step 1 in the instructions by feeding one leg assembly through the other. Then before attaching them together attach the buttocks pad (three screws). Then continue with step 1 of the instructions. The reason is that once the two leg pieces are attached, it becomes awkward to attach the pads. This is especially true with the shin pads. The screws for the shin pad are rather short and can be difficult to line up. I found that being able to move the unattached leg pieces makes it easier to attach the pads2. There are three silver colored posts of different lengths. A screw goes into each threaded end. I recommend holding one of the posts and fully inserting a screw in one end. Then after threading it through the leg assemblies, you have only the other screw to attach. I found it awkward trying to attach both screws at the same time.3. When attaching the shin leg assembly to the buttock assembly there are three sets of holes. The instructions do not show this. Which set of holes do you use? I am 6'1" and I am most comfortable using the set of holes closest to the ground. If you are shorter the other sets of holes may be better. My recommendation is to assemble it according to these guidelines but don't tighten the screws. Try it on for size. Try all three sets to find one just right. Only after you have finally decide would I recommend fully tightening the screws. It would be nice if the instructions gave some guidance in this.Assembly takes about 20 minutes without rushing. To me the hardest part was attaching the shin pad because of the short screws and limited clearances.Overall, I am very happy with this product. I especially like the screw angle adjustment in the back. I prefer this over the pneumatic assemblies seen in other models. Once you get this set to what is comfortable for you, it will stay in that position. I like that.I would have given it a five if the instructions were better written and the assembly was easier. But once assembled, it allows me to sit at my desk relatively pain free. Again, it is not a magical cure all chair. But it is a chair that takes away the pressure from your thighs and places it on your knees/shins.I really like the design of kneeling chairs and this one is sturdy and the cushion pads are perfect. My two issues is that the seat is angled too much which pushes your pelvis into a forward tilt which is not great. (Yes I have adjusted my position and the chair in every possible way). The other annoyance is that after assembling it wiggles side to side except when you’re sitting/adding pressure so not a big deal. Overall as a chiropractic student I will say this is much better than a normal chair, change positions frequently, stand and move every 30 mins, and try not to let your pelvis tilt forward ( it’s when you arch lower back and stick butt out.) You want a neutral position so tuck your pelvis in slightly towards your belly button.I use this 2 to 3 hours a day at work to help relieve my back and shoulders. I'm a large Man and it's sturdy enough.I assembled this chair myself, wasn’t difficult at all. All the tools and screws were present. The seat and knee padding is quite thick and comfortable. I am 6’1” (185 cm), and I could adjust the chair perfectly for my size and comfort. I am very satisfied with this purchase.I use it when I need a break from sitting or standing at my desk. I can’t use it for too long but it is nicely padded and sized well for larger individuals!! (I’m plus size woman) ?. My knees get sore if I’m in too long but it definitely helps ease my back pain from sitting too long! The wheels that come with this one are not strong and do not roll on carpet very well. Cheap, but I think I’ll order some better casters from somewhere and change them out. Overall it’s a good chair & I’m happy with my purchase !It's not like it was hidden or anything, and I JUST got this and am using it for the first day now, but why are all kneeling chairs so narrow? I have to pull my knees together to get them on the kneeling pad and I really don't understand the logic or reasoning behind it. If it's a structural thing, there are ways to reinforce that area.Otherwise my only things to say at this point are -Installation - 3 possible holes can be used to bolt the frame together, they don't tell you that, or tell you why, but it would appear that the chair is designed for average height or smaller, because I'm 5'9 and on the "tallest" hole.Design - not sure why they went with a threaded adjustment rid for height change instead of the shock style thing other chairs went with, kind of annoying to figure out "you're" setting, but definitely more durable in the long run.Looks - just like the image, got it with red cushions and it looks fantasticEdit: having used this for a while now I can happily say this is sturdy, comfortable, and I'm happy with my purchasePROS:Fairly easy to assembleEasy to adjustEasy to tell when your posture is leaning in to your computer/deskHelped with my lower back strain that I'd get from a normal office chairCONS:If you have bad knees, this will be a bit hard on them. Adjust to give yourself the best possible angle. The padding is a little to soft, getting compressed all the way in 10 minutes or so then it feels hard. This kneeling chair takes a little while to get use to. It will work out your core if you're a normal computer jockey and not in good shape. (this is technically a "pro") I have a standing/sitting desk so I swap between my normal office chair, my knelling chair, & standing. Sometimes it is annoying to have two chairs but I think it is worth it. Just take your time getting use to it, just like a standing desk...you can't go from zero to 8 hours a day (nor should you)There are so many kneeling chairs out there, I wasn't sure which one to get. I initially wanted one that was already put together, used hydraulics to adjust height, but I couldn't find that with the cushion thickness I also wanted, so I 'settled' for the manual adjustment and the 4" cushions. My fears about assembly were unwarranted. While the instructions come in picture form only, it was very easy to follow and everything went into place as it should. The manual adjustment is easy to use and I'm glad I held out for the thicker cushions.I've used the chair for a few hours now, and for the first time in the eight months of working from home, stood up from work without exceeding back pain and/or stiffness. YES!Uncomfortable after about 20-30mins. Having to get up to stretch my legs made the chair a little counter productive.Definitely forced me into better posture and was good on my lower back. I was trading lower back pain for knee pain. If I sat for longer than 30 mins I would end up hobbling around.I returned this after trying for a couple of weeksKneeling chair came on time and undamaged. Parts were easy to unpack. Assembly was simple, although instructions could be a bit clearer. Very sturdy construction. Adjusting height/angle requires unscrewing a support bolt, which is not ideal, but the chair comes with the required 2 Allen keys, so it's not a big deal. Storing the chair is also easy if you remove one of the bolts to fold it up. Casters are sufficient. I would have liked a non-wheel option for wood floors, but I've put floor protectors on mine too prevent scratching.Easy to assemble: yesComfort level: 8/10Thickness: seat and knee cushions are quite thick.Very good product for the price. Recommend of you want to try something a little different. It was love at first sit... for a week or two. This style of chair is phenomenal. I am an editor so I'm sitting all day and night and deal with significant problems in my right shoulder (my mouse arm) and neck. This chair has proven that kneeling chairs are by far the best choice for me. My posture is much better and the pain in my back/neck/shoulder is significantly reduced. I used to switch between a regular rolling chair and a yoga ball, but now I only use this chair. It can be hard on the knees/shins for long periods of time, but it's a good reminder to stand up and walk around for a few minutes. The cushions were great for a short while but they somehow deflated. They were super thick but now they immediately sink to essentially nothing. I've folded two thin blankets, one for the seat and one for the knee rest, as extra padding. I don't like that the seat remains at the angle of the support bar; raising the height also increases the angle of the seat so you're always sitting on an angled seat. I ended up sticking a small block of wood at the base of the seat to prop it up so it's more level. After my seat modification and extra padding, the chair isn't bad and I still use it whenever I work. I'm glad I have a kneeling chair, but the seat design and cushion comfort of this particular model should be improved. I'm glad I have this chair, but I suspect I will be upgrading soon. This chair is only good for those looking to try out kneeling chairs. I’ve tried it and it seems to work, but already planning to upgrade pretty soon. Here’s why.1. What I received only slightly resembled the photos. The seat tilt is not as much as the photo unless at maximum height, at which I’m sitting at around eye level for 1.5m tall. My default sitting which is at about 2” up from lowest setting has my seat cushion at almost horizontal level.2. Cushioning of what I received is nowhere as thick as indicated in the photos. My seat was about 2-2.5” thick with ultra soft cushion (not in a good way), and it was almost fully deflated after 45 minutes sitting in it. I’m only 68kg.3. Wheels are terrible and again different from what is in the photo. The locks are different and almost impossible to activate, at unlocked position, the wheels jam and therefore creates a slightly imbalanced seat, (one of the forward wheels faces the front as it is jammed and one faces the back, creating a slightly off-balance feel.I don’t expect this chair to last more a year with daily use. It is however a decent gateway to kneeling chairs. Won’t recommend this to experienced users as you’d probably get something a lot more durable and comfortable at a $50-$100 more.Edit: It’s now around 3 - 4 months and the cushion is almost gone, and several of the screws just fell out. I would rather spend a little more on something that is better built.
